چکیده

Hummel’s (1) fluorometric determination of malic acid requires the precipitation of calcium malate by alcohol as a means of fractionation from biological materials. Fructose-l, 6-diphosphate, glucose-6-phosphate, or glycogen if present must be removed. Below is described a method for preparing extracts of tissues which applies the principles of chromatography on silica gel. Osazone formation, precipitation of malate, and preliminary hydrolysis for the removal of glycogen are thereby eliminated, since interfering carbohydrates do not appear with malic acid in the chromatographic zone selected. When the same chromatographic column that is employed for the preparation of the malate for analysis separates simultaneously other acids of the Krebs cycle (2)) the determination has enhanced utility.

Thermal processing determination time for fermented and acidified indigenes Iranian vegetables

Vegetables may be preserved by fermentation, direct acidification, or a combination of these, along with pasteurization, to yield products with an extended shelf life and enhanced safety.  Effect of lowering the pH, either by adding acid or lactic fermentation, on thermal process requirements for canned vegetables was investigated. Malic acid was preferred for acidification of canned vegetables...

The effect of citrate on the rotation of the molybdate complexes of malate, citramalate and isocitrate.

Extracts of liver and muscle convert citric acid into laevo-rotatory isocitric acid [Martius, 1938]. As the rotation of isocitric acid, like that ofother ac-hydroxy acids, is much increased by (NH4)2MoO4*, the polarimeter can be used to measure low concentrations of isocitric acid in tissue extracts [Martius, 1938; Jacobsohn, 1940]. On applying this method to plant extracts we met with an unexp...

مقایسه اسیدهای آلی با وزن مولکولی کم در توصیف آزاد شدن روی در تعدادی از خاک‌های آلوده

The rate of metal transfer from the solid phase to solution is an important factor governing their concentration in the soil solution and its availability. In this research, the release rate of Zn in contaminated soils from Isfahan was studied using solutions citric acid, oxalic acid and malic acid 0/01 M during the period of 2 - 504 hours and its relationship with soil characteristics was inve...
